I always make a cake for myself for my birthday. This year I tried to make a double chocolate fudge cake with marshmallow on the inside and vanilla butter cream on the outside. Double chocolate fudge is my enemy. I tried to level the top and it started to fall apart. I tried to cut it in half and it started to crumble. I tried to put a “crumb coat” on the cake and it was crumbling again, I had to reshape it while putting on the buttercream. Here are the pictures of the cake from beginning to finish. It looks better now that I put the marshmallow creme on top, with sprinkles. It looks funny, but it tastes delicious! Happy birthday to me!
Next year I might try a stiffer cake, or make a pineapple upside down cake (which is my favorite).
